Introduction
Overlooking the Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort has a panoramic view of Jaipur city. Constructed in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the fort was a defense trio with Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort. Nahargarh Fort History
Constructed in 1734 by Jaipur’s founder Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.
Originally called Sudershangarh, then renamed Nahargarh, meaning “tiger’s abode”.
Never attacked, and used mainly as a retreat and vantage point.
The fort has lovely palaces such as Madhavendra Bhawan, constructed by Sawai Madho Singh for his wives.
